Book Event - Lost Worlds of the San Francisco Bay Area

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 - 6:00pm
Book Passage Sausalito
100 Bay Street, Sausalito

In February, Book Passage bookstore opens its newest branch store at 100 Bay Street in Sausalito. SFMHS is proud to co-sponsor a presentation by award-winning writer Sylvia Linsteadt (in conversation with Malcom Margolin, founder of Heyday Books). Linsteadt has just published Lost Worlds of the San Francisco Bay Area, a book that delves into the history of the Bay Area. Through essays and images, Linsteadt brings to life the many microcosms that once flourished in the San Francisco Bay Area: from the farthest reach of the Russian Empire at Fort Ross, to acres upon acres of apricot blossoms in what is now known as Silicon Valley, to the Coney Island of the West on the Alameda shoreline, to San Francisco’s bohemian Barbary Coast.
