Interviewed By Lana Costantini

Meet author and “Renaissance Man” John Briscoe, as well as SFHS’s new executive director, Lana Costantini. In a question-and-answer format, Lana will interview John about his book, Crush: The Triumph of California Wine. John will share with us his knowledge of California wine history.

A short SFHS Annual Meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. prior to the regular monthly presentation

John Briscoe is a San Francisco poet, author, lawyer, and restaurateur. He has published poetry, articles on law, literature, and history; and several books, including Crush: The Triumph of California Wine and Tadich Grill: The Story of San Francisco’s Oldest Restaurant. John is also the vice president of the SFHS board of directors.

SFHS monthly programs are free to members. Non-member fee is $10, which may be applied to membership dues within 30 days; $5 for non-member seniors, students, K–12 teachers, and people with disabilities. Programs are normally scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month, except August and December. Programs are subject to change, so please check for updates at sfhistory.org.
