Guide: John Martini

The Main Post of the Presidio encompasses more history than another other site within GGNRA. Learn about Spanish colonial settlers, 1906 refugees, U.S. Army history from 1846 to 1995, and a dizzying variety of military architecture. Highlights of this mile-long walk include the newly renovated Presidio Officers Club and Heritage Center, the Inn at the Presidio, the new Visitor Center, and updates on the Presidio Tunnel Tops project. Walk ends at the ever-popular Off-the-Grid event on the main parade. Grade: Easy. 2 hours.

John Martini is one of our most popular tour guides. He leads many walking tours on the lands around San Francisco. He is an experienced tour guide with a great deal of historical information about San Francisco and the West. Note: Rain cancels.
