SFHS/CITY GUIDES TOUR

Learn the rich history of one of San Francisco’s most underappreciated neighborhoods. See scores of historic brick warehouses and industrial buildings, including pre-earthquake structures. Search for evidence underfoot of the area’s rich railroad history. Learn about a Chinese fishing village from the 1850s, the Pacific Mail Steamship Company, and dockworkers’ waterfront restaurants and the artist who paints them.

Guide: Marjorie Schwartz-Scott
